Calcium channel blocker
Contraindications
General
- Because of the slight negative inotropic effects, it should be used cautiously in patients with heart failure or cardiogenic shock.
- Use cautiously in liver disease or those at risk for hypotension.
- May be contraindicated in aortic stenosis.
- Caution in pregnant or nursing animals.
Adverse Effects
General
- Not well defined at this time, to now side effects have been minimal.
- Anorexia and hypotension are possible.
- Hypertension may rapidly recur if doses are missed.
- Infrequently may cause azotemia, lethargy, hypokalemia, reflex tachycardia and weight loss.

- May cause additive hypotension.
Beta adrenergic blocker
- May cause hypotension.
Diuretic
- May cause hypotension.
Protein bound drug
- May displace other highly protein bound drugs resulting in increased activity of both.
Vasodilator
- May cause hypotension.
Drug Interactions
Tadalafil
- Potential to increase hypotensive effects.
