Drug Information

Pharmacology

Causes mydriasis and cycloplegia.

Contraindications

General

Use with caution in patients that may be predisposed for acute congestive glaucoma as this condition may be precipitated in these cases.

Adverse Effects

General

May cause pain upon administration and salivation.
May also precipitate acute congestive glaucoma in susceptible patients.

Comments

Maximum dilation occurs in 15 – 30 minutes and lasts 6 – 12 hours in most animals.

Intraocular pressure is not affected.
